Parenting Support

Education Programmes for Parents, Carers & Grandparents

At Ashmore Park Nursery School, we recognise that being a parent/carer can be an enjoyable and  fulfilling experience, however, we also understand that on occasion it can be very challenging, families can feel isolated and it can feel like the hardest job in the world.  Children can be very demanding as they move through their developmental stages and at times, we may need a little help and advice to support us through these difficult phases.

The City of Wolverhampton Council offers parenting support through their ‘Wolverhampton Early Help Services’ offer, which provides free of charge education programmes for parents/carers and grandparents of children in our City.

Parent Education Programmes include the ‘Self Help Parenting Programme’, which offers online modules on a range of topics including:

  • Managing Family Stress;

  • The Developing Child;

  • Parenting Styles; and

  • Parenting Toolbox.

You can also complete the ‘Journey of Change Families Programme’, which is a four-week course that concentrates on the basic principles of Parenting; it can be completed face-to-face or online.
